Lubuski Gin

The story of Lubuski Gin starts in an old polish city, Torun. It is place best known to be the hometown of an astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus.

Another signature of this city is very traditional and famous in Europe gingerbread manufacture industry. Gingerbread refers to a category of baked goods, typically flavoured with ginger, cloves, nutmeg or cinnamon and sweetened with honey, sugar or molasses. Torun’s gingerbread was mentioned for example by world famous pianist Frederic Chopin in his letters to his godfather. He was amazed by the flavour and pleasant scent they emanated from this delicacies.

It is hard to estimate precisely the influence of the gingerbread industry on the final recipe of Lubuski Gin, but each visitor of the city will surely admit that herbal and rich in botanicals taste of Lubuski Gin has to have something in common with a scent of freshly baked gingerbreads from Torun.

And so in 1987 the owners of Lubuski Gin set a difficult task as to make a gin that will be entirely based on XIX distillation method used by Londoners. However, the ingredients could have been locally selected with the creativity of blending team under Elizabeth Goldyka supervision. One of the most important factors that makes this gin exceptional among others is the use of juniper distillate. During the production process of Lubuski Gin, juniper berries are fermented and distilled, which guarantees intensive nose and natural juniper flavour.  Contrary to many popular brands that add extracts of juniper or use juniper berries for infusion to grain distilled spirit, Lubuski Gin stayed true to original gin idea of alcohol made from juniper. Only few gins belongs to this exclusive group of distilled gins and Lubuski is one of them.

All you need to do is open the bottle, and Lubuski Gin will release its rich flavour of juniper and great composition of botanicals.

The marketing strategy of Lubuski is very simple. We do not position it in mass media advertisements and sponsor many international competitions as we consider it unnecessary cost. Our gin has growing number of consumers and bartenders who use it because of its great taste, rich flavour and affordable price to use it on the bar, at your home or on a party with your friends. Great to with classic Gin&Tonic. Cheers!

You should know that LUBUSKI refers to the Polish region of Lebus. Lebus region is an ecologically clean, absolutely natural region of Poland, juniper comes only from this area and the factory is not allowed to source them from somewhere else.

Lubuski Gin gained huge popularity among local polish people. Now, the gin is the most famous gin in Poland with more than 50% market share and since last decade it become more and more available in other countries, notably: England, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, USA and China.
